You came to this site because your child needs help — not to be tracked. This policy explains, in plain language, what our website collects, what it never touches, and how to reach us with questions. It is written to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).
The short version
- We use cookieless, aggregate analytics. No cookies, no ad tech, no cross-site tracking, no profiles.
- Our free tools run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them is ever sent to us.
- This website has no accounts, so there is no account data to collect.
- If you email us, we see what you send, and we use it only to reply.
What we collect
Aggregate analytics (Plausible)
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first service, to understand which pages help families most. Plausible is cookieless and collects only aggregate counts — which page was visited, roughly where the visit came from (country level), the browser type, and the site that linked here. It does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not follow you across other websites. We see totals, not people.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, ours is delivered by a hosting provider (Vercel). Vercel keeps standard, short-lived server logs — things like IP address, the page requested, and the time — to run the network and block abuse. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors. [TBC: confirm and state Vercel’s log retention window before publication.]
Email you send us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to answer you. We do not add you to any list, and we do not share it with anyone.
What we never collect
Our tools — calculators, checklists, and decision guides — run entirely in your browser. What you type stays on your device, and when you close the tab it is gone. Nothing typed into a tool is transmitted to Waypoint or to anyone else. We built them this way on purpose: your child’s diagnosis, your income, and your family’s situation are nobody’s business but yours.
We also do not collect names, passwords, account information (there are no accounts on this site), precise location, or health records, and we do not buy data about you from anyone. We do not sell or share personal information — we do not have it to sell.
Newsletter

Questions that shape our content

Children’s privacy
Waypoint is written for parents and caregivers — adults. This website has no accounts, sign-ups, or chat, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us at privacy@waypointchild.com and we will delete it.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. We do not track visitors in the first place, so there is nothing for that signal to switch off. Every visitor gets the same treatment — no cookies, no profiles — whether the signal is on or not.
Seeing, correcting, or deleting your information
Because this site has no accounts and our tools send us nothing, we usually hold nothing about you to show or delete. The one exception is email: if you have written to us and want that correspondence corrected or deleted, ask at privacy@waypointchild.com and we will do it.
Third parties we rely on
- Plausible Analytics — cookieless, aggregate analytics, described above.
- Vercel — hosting and content delivery, including the server logs described above.
We do not use advertising networks, social media pixels, or data brokers. If this list ever changes, we will update this page and note the change in the log below.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and add a plain-language entry to the change log below saying what changed and when. If a change meaningfully affects your privacy, we will say so clearly — no quiet edits.
